Iron Man Not So Iron

The origins of Iron Man are fairly simple in the comic book world. Billionaire playboy and engineer, Tony Stark, is kidnapped and injured by a group of warmongers who insist that he build them a weapon of mass destruction. Instead, he builds an iron suit that allows him to escape his captors, ultimately becoming the Iron Man, a superhero that fights crime on a global scale. For the last several years, Robert Downey, Jr. has been filling these big shoes, playing Stark on the big screen. And on Wednesday, we learned that Downey had sustained an ankle injury during the shoot of Iron Man 3.

In order to give his ankle time to heal, Marvel Studios said that the production schedule has been delayed. They were filming in Wilmington, North Carolina, when the incident (which hasn’t been clarified) brought Downey to his knees. According to the latest movie gossip, director Shane Black and the Iron Man star have really been trying to make this film bigger than the other two, which is a tall order. They want their trilogy to end on a high note, so the stunts are a little more risky, the heights just a little higher.

Yes, we’d all love to see another Iron Man movie, but be careful with Downey. We also need him to cap off the trilogy of Sherlock Holmes.
